My vintage smut collection has been tucked away for a few months while we rearrange and renovate, but they are beginning to emerge so I bring you The Shades of Summer, a fashion editorial from The Gent Magazine, August 1961. It features some genuinely excellent style – those tiered eyelet scallops and the striped cumberbunds delight me – and some of-the-times copy that include lots of references to Parties, Banquets and Balls (as well as much “Ballin'”) and the line “Monkey suits have gone the way of Explorer monkeys.” Do be sure to click for more for the rest of the article and more fashions.
