This is the visually spectacular Toby Dammit, a short film by Federico Fellini which is part of Spirits of the Dead, an anthology of Edgar Allan Poe adaptations (the other two are by Louis Malle and Roger Vadim – those images coming soon). The original story is called Never Bet the Devil Your Head which, unlike the film ends, in dog meat.

Wow. I saw this years ago as part of an Italian Cinema course and have no recollection of it being so incredibly strange.

Toby Dammit is one of my favorite movies of all time. Terence Stamp is perfect. Where are the Ferrari scenes?
