I don’t get it; why is this fab FM statue in Montreux? Was it the site of the best show ever?

I can’t figure it out, it makes no sense. FM did live in Montreux for a very short period of his life, but there were far more notable residents that lived there like Stravinsky and Tchaichovsky at the time when they made statues of dead white people…I really don’t know…not even the residents could explain it…I know there is a FM gathering once a year…
