Truth be told, this was Brittany’s find – I was adamantly against taking it home (just as adamant as I was when Brittany picked up $7 off the sidewalk a few months ago); but I’ll admit (now that it’s sat in the car for over a year), it’s pretty awesome. The teacher’s notes are a bit hard to read in the scan:

As for the story itself, here’s Folusho Adeyemo’s original text with corrections in brackets:

Hi, hoots the name and a seed is my game. I’m here to(y) tell you one of the greatest story in the world. The story of the plant hunters watcher. We starts of with a group of kids playing with some squeals, [what is this?] “A[h] men” the kid said to his friends, looking at the squeal with a smile on his face and his mind screaming food! “let eat”

The other [boys] smile and picked up there [their] knee and just about they killed the squeal they saw it planting a seed in the earth and they cooked and eat [ate - past tense] the squeal. Even dough the boy was fall he went back to that spot ever day. Some said he was a fool but fool where the great, some said [he] was looking for a voice of an angel and he was, sew if each day and because that he was telt [does not make sense] to find food on his own and he did with a peach tree all to him self.”

It’s a manatee in a baggie!  And just in case you couldn’t tell, someone has kindly labeled it.  Truth be told, I didn’t find it – Luke did.  But he gave it to me along with all rights to its awesomeness.

This greeted me the other morning on my way to work outside a neighbor’s house. It’s a page from an unknown calendar which I’d love to get my hands on, because if this drawing by Ruth Krinsky, age 70 is only third place….

So I’m currently staying in Sydney. I saw Elijah Wood in the lobby, so I knew he was staying in the same hotel. When I had my itunes open, I noticed that someone was sharing an itunes library to anyone on the same network (which in a hotel on wireless means anyone in the building). It was cleverly labeled “Elijah Wood’s iTunes Library” for those of you that don’t know, you can set what your sharing library is named as to not let everyone know your first and last name.

Besides having a playlist named “romantic ideas”, he’s got standards like the beatles, aretha, and alternative rock mainstays. Also present is a very large collection of George Michael (and not just faith) and even a New Edition album (pre bobby brown’s “shoe don’t follow me” days).

Was just discussing with a friend the decline in quality of bad tv movies, particularly in reference to the could-have-been-awesome Pregnancy Pact. People just don’t know how to make bad good anymore. I blame a widespread knowledge of taste that taints those that don’t have it. Ann Rule’s All She Ever Wanted is a contemporary exception.
