Well, dear readers, sad to say I had to take this morning off to recuperate from a vicious bout of food poisoning!! I managed to still make it out this afternoon to the Mercat Boqueria, the city’s (and possibly the world’s) most incredible food market…

Started the day walking by the Block of Discord. This is Gaudi’s Casa Batllo.

My favorite purchase: spicy pickled heirloom cucumbers. The company, Brooklyn Brine, is working on a whiskey barrel pickle that will be ready soon.

sandwiches and cake are two different things. this is too weird and gross for even me to try. Can i ask why this is severed with strawberry jelly? I found this recipe card at my local bagel shop. There’s an actual recipe for this on the back of the card should anyone really want it.
